Re: MJ's Damage report!

MJ, I was thinking today that the bracket on your boat probably helped in keeping you afloat. The floatation from the bracket probably kept your motor from going completely under and therefore it kept running. Without the extra floatation in the a$$ end it surely would have gone under. I agree with Tuna, that is one ugly mug ;D but I am surely glad to be able to see it.
Score 1 more point *for brackets. ;)

Well I agree, it was almost under 2" more and the water would have got in the air vent and that would have been the end!!
When we saw the motor down that is when I thought we were going swiming! and was the only time I was worryed!
But another wave came from behind and lifted that bracket right up and she was still running, and then I knew we would be fine!!

I have always hated Evinrude's! I have always told people to run when they saw one!! I liked Johnson but something about evinrude I hated!!

Well you will never hear me say a bad thing about them again!! ;D

Another good reason to use a long-shaft motor on a bracket...we've talked about that a coupla times...in order to get the prop at the same level w/a short-shaft, MJ's power head wouldv'e been 5" LOWER :P ... and his recent adventure would have ended on a much less happy a note :-/ ...

Oh...hey there Big Guy...looks like ya been postin' yer lil' fingers to the bone ;D ...goin' out and French-kissin' Mother Ocean musta been SOME inspiration 8) ...

MJ I just got back from vacation and hated to hear about your misfortune. Glad you and Kenny are ok. Hope you get the V fixed up.

Good to hear how well the boat took that kind of wave but a bad way to find out.

Again, glad you guys are OK. :)

MJ, whats teh deal with having saddle tanks. Each tank runs to one filter or two ?, Then I gues there must be a "T" somewhere that both lines join and then run straight to the motor ??

Wow, MJ . . . just wow! :o

I'm going to keep those pics of your windshield close by in case I ever think I should try handling any really rough seas.

You just want that pic, cause I am so good looking!! ;D

Hammer I have 3 tanks now, but even before that with the 2 tanks, I ran both tanks to a 3 way vaule, then to one filter then to the motor.

I have never seen 2 tanks that will draw equaly and I have tryed everything!

The lines go from the tanks to the 3 way vaule and I then select the tank I want to draw from. works much better that way and I can also keep updated to how much gas I have.
It also helps keep boat level cause when one tank iks empty, boat will list to the other side. This way byou can ride out on one back on the other and stay pretty level.

right nnow I have a third 25 gal tank in the bilge and run off that all the time to avoid the hassle. But if I am going on a long hall, I fill everything for 65 gas of gas.
