I talked to the man last night, he said that the Loadmaster,(not missed spelled) with trailer package will tow fine!! *But they are very expensive cars to fix so be prepared to dump some $$$ in it when it goes.

BS...if ya wanna haul 4 guys and a boat, this is the best way *I can think of to do it...4-doors, full back seat...cars (no matter what the torque numbers ) just aren't TOWING machines...as long as they've been makin' crew-cab PUs now, there oughtta be one out there in any price-range (utility companies auction them off reularly)...

It occurred to me and MJ said it too, cars are not GEARED to tow...they're geared to cruise utilizin' their available torque...go w/a truck...you'll be buyin' into less headaches ;) ...and btw...Ford, Chevy, GMC, Dodge...pick one...they've all got pluses and minuses...just get como of HP, torque and towin' pkg and yer THERE!! 8) ...

I see your problem now, you got a short wheelbase. I had the 7 foot bed on mine, towed great and stopped even better. One thing you could do to improve it's braking is to go to the 89 and older style rear brakes. They were 2 inches larger in diameter and made a HUGE difference in braking. My 88 stops MUCH better than my 97 I towed with.

I personally could never tow with a car, but that's just me.

Ferm - I was just looking up the wheelbase. That 7ft bed comanche has one long wheelbase.

Wheelbase 113"(6'Bed) 120"(7'Bed)

Jeep Grand Cherokee is only 109.5" and 105.9" depending on the year.

I use a Ford E-150. It has a V-6 and plenty of power to tow, launch and retrieve the V-20. Plus I can fill the van with all the boat junk.
