1) Take it back to the mechanic that set your timing nd tell him what happened. Obviously he did not do his job right and it needs to be corrected.
2) Get yourself an electric winch for your boat. I'm partial to Powerwinches, but there are many good brands on the market, including the ones from Harbor Freight. That way you won't have to powerload your boat and you can guide it onto your trailer. My Powerwinch is the older kind that I have to use a lanyard to turn the winch on while I'm standing at the rear of the trailer guiding, but the newer ones have a wireless remote control. Either way it's a lot easier and makes one man loading an easy job.

I only brought the boat to him to have the timing set and the issue really doesn't happen until the boat has been run for quite a while. I think it's more a fuel issue than anything.
I had a powerwinch that came with another boat and I let it go because I'm not a fan of them. I can load my boat solo the way I do it a lot faster. I just need to add a ladder to my winch stand.

Check the search for a post(s) on the ladder on the stand. I remember a few years back that someone made a post showing the ladder they made and had welded to the post. Thing of beauty and really practical.

I actually have some materials to make one, a welder, and the ability to do it. It's just a project that I've been putting off.

I got my new used tach today. Hopefully I can get it in this weekend. With the the predicted weather I don't think I'll be getting out though.

Me and Jersey do NOT go together. I despise going through there for my wife to visit her family(what kind of nanny state won't let you make aleft hand turn?). And my wrenching days are done. Between carpal tunnel, trigger finger, joint degeneration, 2bad shoulders, bad hip, knees, ankles, 12 bad discs, cronic pain syndrome, and so on, I got forced into early retirement.

LOL Ferm... you have to understand that NJ is the most densely populated state in the union so we have more people and vehicles. Plus, because we are a corridor state (Ppl up north have to go thru us to go south and ppl down south have to go thru us to get up north) we also have more cars per square mile on our roads than any other state in the union. When I was growing up NJ used to allow left turns to go left, and we had center islands on our highways, etc.. just like most states.... but it was the cause of horrible t-bone crashes and lots of traffic backups... So they came up with the clover leaf design where you have to make a right hand turn to go left... Granted, you have to drive a little further distance, but it speeds up traffic flow, reduces accidents and saves lives. And also, don't forget that we're talking about major highways and roadways here, not neighborhood streets where you make left turns just like anyplace else in the nation.

And you are far from done son... Your physical body might be going thru some hard times right now, but your mind is as sharp as ever and you know $hit that most of us can only guess at. So find a job where you use your mind .. like teaching as an example. You still have a huge amount of worth left in you.
(And the next time you are in NJ let me know and the first drink is on me... [and maybe the second and third also])

I tried getting into teaching(my wife is a teacher, so it seemed a good fit). Her school lost there auto tech teacher on short notice, but still wouldn't consider taking me because they know about my physical problems(and have seen how many days my wife has missed because I have to go to the ER, or have surgery). So that avenue got a road closed sign slammed on it.

Ferm don't close the door on teaching just yet, Perhaps you could teach at strictly an automotive school. As Paul said you are very far from done.. Their is an a$$ for every seat! Everyone has seen your abuility to asses ,diagnose, and most importantly convey /explained the fix and have people understand what your talking about...Not everyone can do that. By the way I like the left turn in Jersey! After decades of driving a service vehicle in Manhattan Brooklyn and queens I definitely see the Benifite .
