They want to mount them for warranty issues. Suzuki now has a 6 year non declining warranty. I did however buy a lighly used 2001 Mercury 150 Saltwater series motor. I would only install new if I was going to keep the boat forever.

Yamaha is the same way, they mount or no warr.

I hate that they do that, it bad anough that you have to dish out $8000 but then they want $500 to a $1000 to refit the boat!! >:(

Call suzi and ask them if it is a required thing for warr? it might be he just wants to make the money??

Same way with Honda. They're offering a 5 yr warranty, but an authorized dealer must install and rig.

Yeah, when I's negotiatin' mine among 3 Honda dealers, all 3 prices included install AND SS prop... ;D ...
