I always thought "V-20" describes the hull below the rub-rail ;) ...then there are several different versions of that...cuddy, dually and center-console...but ALL "V-20s"...along the way, Wellcraft came up w/ various names (marketing) and made changes to consoles and transoms...and the biggest change was to a self-bailin' deck w/ all that entailed...and even the 21...but the hull below the rub-rail; ALL the same "V-20" we know and LUV!! ;) 8) ...

Nah Tin I don't mean the latch in wood ones, I'm talking about the fiberglass wall that is about ten iches tall around it. What year did they go to that?

Mine isn't wood but it is just a straight piece maybe 7-8" high. I do have in mind to build a shield that is full transom height. The bottom section will have a piano hinge so the bottom swings aft in case of water entering boat over gunnels or bow has a QUICK place to exit. I'd use some kind of "L" bracket to prevent the bottom half from swinging inboard (forward) for water coming in over transom notch....Hard to explain, get it?
