Masking for spraying texture
 

Tnx Richie. At last final work. I decided to contract the texturing job to a friend of mine (to technical for me). He's going to use a special sprayer to shoot gelcoat, no sand needed. It should look like factory work (I hope). These pics are of the masking job. Later I'll post pics of the finished work.

I thought I saw a speck on that flawless white paint job - then I realized it was on my computer screen!

That's some gorgeous work, from the transom re-build to the non-slip deck finish. Really good idea raising the transom 5 inches. One of the only faults I've found with the V20s is a tendancy to sit a little lower in the stern than I'd like, especially the models with that huge hatch in the splashwell. Raising the transom 5 inches will provide a much peace of mind.

Thanks for taking the time to document the whole ordeal too....I like the notch in the bow for the anchor roller. ....I missed that when you posted it a few weeks back. It looked so good i thought it was factory but I didnt think I ever saw that before so I had to go back and see your earlier posts about when you put it in.

Awesome looking work TSP!!! Where do you find the time to make all that happen, and not get any flak from the wife. My wife is super cool, and wants to be on the boat with me, but I think even she would get a little snippy with the hours you have into it.

Thanks a lot guys, happy to have your approval. About finding the time, if I calculate it by the hour, I'm spending aprox. 8 hours a week . This month it's been 1 year since I began the project (416 Hrs). About the wife, she loves the boat (and the kids too) and i painted the house for X-mas. Being patient helps a lot too and last but not least, having a site like this one for inspiration.

At last I'm on the last steps for the conclusion of this one. I need to shoot the blue paint and blend to the sides, sand and polish the paint & start drilling & rigging the V. I've purchased many goodies I'm crazy to see installed.

I'll keep you posted.
