Ahhhh a sleeper.:zip: |
yea its a real mutt motor. I had a fully dressed 225 powerhead that I rebuilt. I then dropped it on a 150 that was missing a powerhead. Everything bolted right up! Even the serial number on the clamp bracket is for the 150

Building a Vortec V-6 for the old V-20 now. BHP was 190 but we'll see after all the machine work is done. :sly: My goal is to pass some friends running '31 Cape Horns!

What type and size is your prop? |
I am currently running a mercury laser 2 prop with 19" of pitch and the vent plugs removed. trimmed up I get around 5600 rpms.

Original 470 Mecruiser seems to be plenty of power for me.

I have read threads were guys are posting speeds of up to 45 mph. I have a 93 Yahmaha 150, original motor with boat. Under good conditions what do you think a reasonable top speed is? It seems to cruise nice at about 27 mph at 4500 rpm.
