To answer this question....No, and a very big yes! They extend about 30-40 miles from the mouth of the Cape Fear river. That's why it's called Cape Fear. I think they just have a bouy out there now. Much cheaper than keeping a light stationed manned 24/7/365. The place is in very bad shape though. I think i read that the heli-pad is un-usable, and a hurricane damaged the spiral stairs going up, so I'm not even sure how you would get on it right now. |
