Dishnet:
I'm interested. Is it a 25" shaft extended to 30 or a pure 30" shaft? Also any pics of the powerhead and how about some compression numbers? Thanks Kamikaze |
MJ I don't know if you remember, but I said in a previous post, I run the same boat. A 23 Sea Ox, hard top, w/ a 225 merc. on a bracket. If you concider this engine I will give you my numbers as for fuel burn & performance. I will tell you this, my 225 EFi is a little more thirsty than your 175. Either way the Ox is a good boat, I loved my V20, but I really feel good in the Ox. Maybe we will have a good year, after all this Chinese New Year, (Mon. 1-26) starts the year of the OX. Good Luck, Joe

If I had the cash I might have gone for it.
As for fuel, I am sure if so stay off the throttle its not all that bad. My 225 Evinrude was fine as long as I stayed off it, But hit that throttle and you might has well knock a hole it in the tank!! Yes year of the OX we should have a great year! |

the motor is in a metal crate. I don't have compressions numbers but I do have a sheet that show the fuel burn rates at different RPMs prior to being removed from the boat.
The motor is a 30" motor. I don't know what you mean by extended or not. It is a mercury factory built 30" motor. If you are interested and have the funds call me 757-271-4012...... please don't call if you are not extremely interested or if you don't have money This motor is a deal if you need one.....I have had a lot of local interest and cash is cash and the first cash gets it. Thanks, |
He was asking if someone extended it after market, they have kits for that. But you have answered that saying it was factory.
I am still wishing I had the cash!! You have a layaway plan? J/K Good Luck!! |
Some of the factory 30" engines also came with a 5" spacer in them. MERCURY did this for some time back in the 90's. At one time they were all 20's and had a 5" or 10" spacer for them depending upon shaft length.
