Skools, that's great buddy!!! Very cool and not surprising that everything was perfect from the install. You da' man...

Hey, how long is it safe to run an O/B hooked up to the hose? You got me all excited about running my engine.

well no different when idling in the water if the hose is hooked up just run it with out the hood so you can feel all cylinders, head bolts, spark plug base's, t-stat housings, and heads on all cylinders not a bad idea to do so anyway on a start up on a sitting motor. that way you feel to be sure you have no hot spotting on the cylinders or any plug fouling issues, but rev it up once and a while with it in neutral. i kept my hands all over this motors heads and plug and sides of the cylinders for hot spots or a warmer cylinder, all stayed same temp and ran perfect.

well just finished todays project i want to take the boat to the coast June 9th for it's first splash, going to the beach for a week to see the Big Rock and hope to ride all week on this puppy, i hooked all the fuel lines and fills up to night finally found the correct size vent hose this tank has 1/2 vent i was like wow hugh, well has battery tray and NEW battery installed and all gauges work and passed skools test and the bilge pump and float switch passed the skools test, all i found was a clearance issue on the tank hatch cover has been fixed with the router and has been epoxyed and sealed up. just needs floor painted and the jump seats installed wow i can't wait.

Skools,

When you say "hot spots" are these spots something you can actually feel with your hands? If so, are you saying that the motor should never got too hot to touch?

I'm just trying to get this straight so that I know how to proceed.

Hey, I'm just as excited as you are to see how your boat performs on the water.

Wish I knew enough to put my boat through Skool's school tests ;D

hot spots are you don't want any spots on your motor hotter than others, like if one cylinder seems to be getting a whole lot hotter than the rest of the motor shut it down fast cause you are about to be loosing a cylinder, then you check to ensure that the carb is getting fuel for that cylinder and that the jets are stopped up. my 225 never got to the point that i couldn't rest my hand on any location for an extended time. ran cool the whole time as they should on a hose.
