I've got some rods.

Haven't fished since this morning. Didn't fish last weekend. Lake LBJ the one before. The rest of this year that I remember includes 2 trips to galveston, 2 to lake houston, 2 to somerville, 1 to richland chambers, 1 to port oconner. Also 3 trips to my little lake full of crappie and those sorry excuses for bass we have here.

Not sure what I'm doing next weekend. The one after that is a day in the bay at port aransas and then maybe some offshore if weather permits. Then I'll be back on LBJ for the 4th.

Hey Eight, I'd sure like to see some pictures of your Carvel. Tough boat to find. They're excellent for charter fishing (4-5 fishermen).

eight 06-16-2008 12:41 PM

Wow, somebody knows something about a Carvel. I don't really have any good pictures of it. So what do you know about these boats? The most I've found is that they made boats for a few years in the mid 90s and then went out of business.

Here's one picture. I may get some more if I ever buy another camera. Gonna be selling it soon.

Eight, there's one in the next marina another guide owns. Alot of room and floats pretty shallow. I'd like to see more pics. I know, I sound like Hammer.

eight 06-19-2008 12:05 AM

It does float very shallow. Unfortunately the bracket on the back is too low so it can't run shallow. I'd like to install a hydraulic jack plate but not sure about hanging the 200 oceanpro than much further off the back.

It has over 200 sq ft of fishing space.

willy 06-19-2008 07:08 AM

Oh yea, yea yea I remember, tall fella, makes a good trollng motor, decent with a cast net. Ozwald, Osborne, Ophelia, something like that. Wouldn't mind talking with him again, shame he has one of them there one way phones.

And that Carvel looks like a nice bay boat, how does it ride in a slop?

eight 06-19-2008 09:07 AM

Rides wet in a slop. That's the main reason I'm getting rid of it. It's fine now but not going to be in the winter. I've had it in 6' but it gets a little scary, needs bigger scuppers. Not sure what yall call a slop up north. If it's over 3' I have to slow down and trim it to get the bow up. Definately don't want to stop either. Fortunately the boat doesn't plane (or come off plane) so I can choose whatever speed I want.
