I think BC hit on one of the major issues, there seems to be two different camps in our society, those who feel they deserve it, and those who just want the opertunity to earn it. There are crooks and saints on both sides. I'm just glad I've been given the opertunity and the skills to "earn it", there are a lot of people in this world that don't get either.

Yep, as though 60+% isn't bad enough. It's really sickening when you sit down and think about how much you REALLY get taxed. You pay taxes when you make it, you pay for social security that gets used elsewhere, you pay for medicare, you pay tax when you buy something, and those goods have already been taxed before they make it to you who knows how many times, you pay taxes when you die, you pay taxes when you buy a home, you pay taxes on your utilities, you pay taxes when you die, you pay taxes on your property, and so on and son and so on:bat:. So let's add son some more!

FAIRTAX.ORG Look it up guys. I'm telling you, this is probably the only feesable plan to bring REAL change to our country and get things back to a much simpler time. If you get a chance to, read the two books Neal Boortz and John Linder wrote about the plan. They will answer any and all questions and concerns people might have. It doesn't sound interesting I know, and I'm not a big reader, but I finished the book in a week. It is really pretty engaging. Once people really understand how much taxes they actually pay, and can see where that money is going, only then will there be any understanding of what the real problem is......our "leaders"

I ABSOLUTELY agree. But hey, why pay our mortgages, or any bills for that matter, when the government will bail you out if you can't (or just don't) pay them?

I have listened to Boortz talking about the Fair Tax, I think it would work.

But the corrupt politicians will never let it pass.

yeah the politicians definetly don't want to see it happen. Just try writing to your rep. and the response you'll get is probably the same one they all send out saying that there are just too many unknowns about the proposal which is B.S. It is so simple it makes them look stupid because they can't wrap there Harvard educated brains around it.

They could very easily wrap there HARVARD brains around it, BUT THEY WON'T! They know that it won't line there pockets to do so. It is going to take something radical to wake this nation up, and I believe a civil war will may be what it takes to do it. The tax situation is one of the biggest reasons I support RON PAUL. He is DEAD AGAINST taxes in there current form, and feels they are unconstitutional. This I feel is the biggest reason he will never be in a position of power, his government fears him.

Actually, Mike Huckabee is the only candidate that supports the Fair Tax Plan. I agree about the civil uprising though. Remember your history? That's exactly why we went to war with England and got our indepedence...taxes. Unfair taxation without representation. I wonder if we could find a lawyer to take up that cause. Our "representatives" aren't representing us, so the taxes they levy on us are unfair, and extremely burdensome. Sounds like a plan.
