Re: Center Console Help W/PICS
I beilive it was Macojoe said that the extra .500 from the starboard will have to be removed so the bezel will sit down so the wheel will slide on the shaft fully. I work in a machine shop during lunch I can do "Goverment Work" can I mill .500 from the back face of the bezel and accomplish the samething? The entire fuel system *was reinstalled today with all new hoses and water separater. The screw on the tank that the sending wire goes on is stripped I cant take it off tighten or loosen it just spins can I solder a wire to it?. The sending unit works......

Re: Center Console Help New Pics
Did alot of work this week did a good part of the re-wiring job and the hardest part was putting the boat on the trailer and realining all the rollers the boat was sitting cocked and now it sits level within less than a quater of a inch. Tommorrow is the day the Merc 150 is going to be installed, I was lucky I have a friend that owns a garage and lent me a nice engine hoist and the place I buy parts from loaned the Merc lifting eye,I'll post pictures tommorrow....Ted

Re: 74 Center Console Motor Installation Pi
Blue:
I know nothing about brackets. Looked at yours and wondering why you need one ?? Your lower unit seems long enough. So whats the reason for a bracket ?? |
Re: 74 Center Console Motor Installation Pi
Easy, 20 inch transom and the Merc is a 25 inch shaft.. When it stops raining here I'll take a picture from the inside the jack-plate is 5 inches higher than the transom. That's why the pic with my son and I the anticavation plate is at the right height......
|
Re: 74 Center Console Motor Installation Pi
I got it now. : )
Thanks for the input. ;D |
Re: 74 Center Console Motor Installatio
msbhammer, here's some pics of the motor on the jack plate look where the hook is to mount the motor, it's a least 5 inches above the transom....Ted http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...PDR_0235_1.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...PDR_0236_1.jpg

Re: 74 Center Console Motor Installati
Where'd ya get the 90's 2.0L cowling? Looks "real purty"!!
|
Re: 74 Center Console Motor Installation Pi
Very nice work man. Good lookin rig.
|
Re: 74 Center Console Motor Installation Pi
It has the 82 cowling but the guy refinished the motor and he could not find the right decals so I ended up with those.........I got the motor running today It fired on the 1st time it turned over and started and ran like a bear. I like the rumble of the motor. I just came back from dinner turned the water on hit the choke and blipped the key and it roared to life.....This motor starts better than my truck.......Friday I'm taking a 1/2 a day off and bringing it down to a local lake 10 mintues from here it has a nice deep launch and I taking it for my first ride in a V-20.........................I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!
