I will see what you come up with. If not, sounds like I got some options and good advise on how to maintain. It just always seemed that on the removable ones you had to jiggle them around for ten minutes before they worked. The WD-40 on base and pole sounds like a great idea. |

i've been looking for an LED light but cant find the size i need.
i need to mount it on my hardtop. have one up there now but would like to go LED. looking for a fixed mount 360 about 3 to 5 inches tall. |

Just a few weeks ago I hit a rock and the whole boat listed to one side and all almost went over board!! Just a little water and did not bother with trying to get it out. I have since repaired all damage and repainted the whole bottom. Still NO pumps in the boat! |

I use the removable 24" pole light. The CG has boarded me twice...looking for illegals in the cuddy. First time I kept my mouth shut and let'm do their job. Second time I was a lil'POed...(same CG crew) I told'm if they came across any elsewhere I'd like to buy two for yardwork. They didn't laugh. :-[

Hey skpablo, If you are not going to be anchored at night, you need a 135deg rear facing white light. Anchor lights need to be 360. Most time Coast Gaurd will want to see both in case you get stuck out at night.

probaly not legal on our boats, but a lot of the guys here have the stern light mounted on the top of the engine cowling.
next time you think you are going to get boarded, stop and take off you cowling like you are broke down, they usually turn 90* and go elsewhere. |

I just use one of those 24' removeable with one of those dome caps over the bulb and its fine for fishing. I have found the taller the pole the more people tend to grab it for balance and of course they snap it off getting into the boat.
