In the old I/O mine 1975, I have two 20 gal tanks above the floor under the gunnles.

Just have fish boxes in the floor. But I love them!!

I added a extra 25 gal tank were the old I/O use to be, and kept the engine cover for cut area and a good place to sit and jig.

This pic was from the do over, but you see the extra tank

I also have room to leave a small bait tank stored in there.

Here it is covered up

I don't have a pic of the tank, but there is one on each side. in this pic you can see the gas filler on the right and the tank is covered behind the seaboard.

Re: Newbie here

Hi Gator Bait, welcome aboard. I have a 84 V20 cuddy cabin with a 150 Yamaha OB. My V had a live bait well between the starboard pedestel helm seat, and the port split seat. I used the well several times and decided that the well was better used for storage of things such as, small anchor and rode, fenders, etc. Anything that didn't mind getting wet. The baitwell drained into the bilge. I found out early on that when using the baitwell for live bait that the well didn't keep the bait alive very long and when I went out in the ocean, it didn't even take snotty weather to have baitwell water sloshed all over the place. I now have a portable livebait well that works like a champ.

One of the problems with my V was a leaky 60 gallon aluminum fuel tank. (alot of V owners have had this problem) On my boat, it is under the floor aft of the baitwell. As a quick remedy for the leaky tank, I installed a Tempo 24 gallon tank in the livebait well. It fit perfectly and I am installing a newly fabricated 60 gallon tank when the weather gets better. That will give me 84 gallons of fuel capacity for offshore trips.

I have had alot of boats, OB, IB, 1 IO (never again) sail, canoes, kayaks, etc. and IMHO the V20 is the best 20' boat for my purposes. It is a great snotty weather boat for it's size. I also like it because it looks like a boat, not like a rocket ship!!

Geek, check out out gallery on page 6 of v-20 cuddy's. Brian Coburn is selling his v-20 I/O. Its actually a nice V. He is moving to Fl. and cant take it with him. He might lower the price for a quick sale.

Geekie,

My new V is an 84 but there is no livewell between the seats. Mine is an OB like yours, whats up w/ that?

Really Randle? I remember seeing the box I spoke of on the Ebay listing. I didn't know it was a live well, I thought it was just an in deck fish box. In those pics it seemed that there is a rectangular hatch that is on hinges no? That's what I was asking about so it may very well not be a live well.

RB,

Maybe the in-floor baitwell was an option? My boat title reads 1984.

My 84' is an I/O and the panels are reversed......fuel tank between the seats, and fish box in the back. same size as the ones shown above but just backwards ;)

Sweet thanks for the tip Kajun! ;D

There are a couple in the Tidewater Trading Post for cheap but sound like they need more than just TLC to get them going good...still looking and patient though 8) 8)
