I have a Calcutta 700 that I raped with 175 yards of 80lb Stren Braid with some backing, its hanging on a 7ft St. Croix Premier rated to 40lb, sounds heavy, but hopefully it's lite for what we are doing/catching 8).. Only 39 more days!! I can't wait ;D ;D

The back story... As a kid I grew up in the Inman Square area of Cambridge Mass. This is where Legal Seafoods had it's start as a fish market. Roger Berkowitz behind the counter filleting fish... Eventually they added on a small fry kitchen in the 70's. They sold fish n' chips (haddock) in a big cardboard basket for 69 cents. On Wednesday's (if I rember correctly) they had a special. First order 69 cents, second order .01 cents. Those was the days. Addicted to the haddock fish ever since...

I love Haddock and Cod great eating ( I had a fillet last nice of haddolk, smothered in Ritz crackers and baked ;D).. Pollock, is alright, but does not freeze well, or I've been told.
I "think" there is a 2 fish limit for cod know in the area we will be fishing? I could be wrong though, never the less it will be a blast!
My buddies that go out on this boat usually make most of there monry back from the charter selling the fish to the local restraunts so they get to fish for free, with a freezer full of fillets as a bonus *;D

Sorry for my lack of reading comprehension. I just want to make sure of the date.

I need to make plans for a relative to come down with a grave illness around that date or get called for jury duty for the sixth time in two years. Heaven forbid I put in for a vacation day in January.

Were on for Sunday, Jan. 20th 2008, correct? If it's a no-go due to weather then we go Monday, right. What if Monday's bad too? Not too unusual in January. Is it called or how many days do we kick it out? Should I set aside the whole week? That may require my MIL dieing (again).

Sean... where did you hear that Pollack doen't freeze well. As far as I know most every Fish Stick, Fillet-O-Fish Samich, and any frozen dinner labeled "White Fish" is frozen Pollack. Course most of us don't have our own Norweegian factory ship to freeze our catch.

as far as I know those are the days, I will call the week before to make sure and watch the weather, I think we will have to stay to them 2 days as everyone can only hold on for so long.

If we can't then I guess we will try for the week after??

I am a little consernd also as there is a Full moon that week also, and there might be some big sea??


Pollick in Fillte form does not freeze all that good or for a long period as they are a soft fish,
Thats why its used for fish sticks and such cause they can grind it up.
But it is fine!! Get some fresh fillets and freeze, I have a food saver and that hold the meat toghter good. and the meat makes great fish cakes! ;)

I thought it started out with Monday, then there was cornfusion about whether MJ was using the Roman, Julian or Mayan calendar, then we had to factor in the full moon and leap year so it looks like we're now shooting for February 31st. Seriously, I can do any day as long as I kow in advance. If Sunday doesn't work for Willy then a Monday is okay with me.

We can change for monday thats fine, I have to call the guy any way and get the details of what we should and should not bring.

He says be flexable cause of weather so I am sure there is no issue with monday!!

Who knows this week may never be any good cause of weather so we will just have to watch?

Sorry to say but I am going to need to pull out of this trip. Since Christmas Eve I have been in constant battle with some punk kid I rented a apartment to and it is now going to enter the legal phase. So far it has cost me well over $2,000.00 to fix what he has destroyed (electricicians and plubers arn't as cheap as i remebered) and never mind the punk isn't paying his rent. So right now I can't even pay my January mortgage, so going on a fishing trip won't fly by the wife.
Once it is all over and done with I will fill you guys in, but the kid is a computer guru (went to the army to avoid prison for computer fraud) and sue happy ( I know of two other people he is currently sueing) so I am not saying anything on-line until it is over. I also wont be around much until it is over as it is taking up all of my time and I am mentally exahusted.
Sorry again, and hopefully I can make it up to a few of you this upcomming summer if you want to make a trip down to Newport.

OK Wind Talker give me the breakdown for what we need equip wise, never fished for pollack or cod or whatever before, Not sure if I have what I need.
Also confirm the date for me. I am thinking leaving here sunday the 20th of January and being at your place which I am going to need an address for late in the afternoon. That is Jan 20th in the current year MJ. Fishing monday and leaving tuesday mourning with a full cooler, a little hangover and a Cape Cod super model or two.
Does that sound right so far.
