But only about 100 more than the 3L Merc, which was fine on the back. The boat is rated for 235, so I recon would be a non-issue as long as your transom is in good shape. Apples and oranges to compare a 150 2 smoke Merc and a 4 stroke Honda.

this is taken directly from the Honda service manual for a BF225. Dry weight WITH propeller:606lbs in xl shaft length. Operating weight (including oil)626lbs in xl shaft length
|
check the shipping weights on the crate that the motors come in, either those crates weigh hundreds of pounds, or some one is lying. On that Honda, add oil(close to 2 gals I think), oil filter, gear lube and a propeller with hardware, you're getting real close to 100 lbs added weight

I believe the heavy 4 stroke 200/225 honda would be too heavy for the V.
What's it weight ? 700 lbs or more ? |
might this put a v20 into orbit? lol

7 Marine has the new 557 hp outboard - weight's approx. 1,000 lbs.
That should push a V20/21 to about........ 70mph until the transom tears off...... |
