Look foward to seeing the finished results. |
+2 on the Durabak. Very good stuff. My buddy used white. The light gray would probably not show the dirt as much. It cleans up nice with a stiff brush and good detergent but takes some scrubbing. Very good non-skid product and 2 coats will do. I never go barefoot but it doesn't seem like it would be too bad on the feet?

Well, the deck is done and drying/curing. Went with U-Pol urathane bed liner in Artic white. (it's kinda like a slightly off white....not grey) Put in a hatch as was suggested in front of the gas tank...although truthfully, after it was in I'm thinking I should have gone with a bigger hatch...but it's easy enough to cut out a new hole and just screw in a bigger one if I deem it necessary. Time will tell. All underfloor hoses were replaced with new....just seemed prudent. Rod boxes have a few cracks in them that I'll need to glass, so they're just in there for show right now. Next project is lenghtening my 20" Merc 200 into a 25" and mounting it on the rear. Fun, fun, fun ... Oh..and I MUST get new seats and cushions.

Looks Great!!!
|
Looks GREAT! I really like the hatch. There is also a hollow space under the captains chair, forward of the live bait well.
|
Nice work Destroyer. Looks brand new.
|
looks great, i have the larger size hatch, and in that high trafic area, the tend to last only 2 or 3 years before cracking. by going with the smaller one, you will probably get a longer life span out of yours.
how aggresive is the texture of your deck, would bare feet be uncomfortable? |

Things to do still: Lengthen and mount engine Shorten and mount radar arch Mount Antennas Mount radar Repair cracks in rod racks Install bimini top Mount anchor windlass (Thank you again WellcraftV20step!!!) Cut and install tackle box under seating area Install all electronics gear (radar, radio, chartplotter, fish finders, GPS) Mount downriggers and run power lines to them Mount kicker engine and connect steering adapter to main engine <sigh> |
Figuring out how to get blood off the deck = A wonderful problem to have!
The floor sure did turn out nice. Looks REALLY GOOD!! Nice job. |
Great work, good luck with it.
Thinking maybe use Woody Wax to put a protective coating on it ? The woody wax sprays on, then you use a soft brush, then rinse and it leaves the wax coating if you never used it..... Anyway, the deck looks good to go - better than new ! |
Destroyer, since I just replaced my helm seat, would you like my old cushions? You can have them for free and they are in decent shape. They will fit your helm seat. I'll post pics later this evening.

Yup, this site is populated with the most generous, kind, thoughtful people you'll find anywhere.
Why just the other day I posted a question - anyone have a nearly new 200hp DFI or OptiMax outboard motor they can part with ? Next thing I knew I had 2 Evinrudes, 3 Yami's, and 2 Mercs on my front door step. Amazing. Next time........................ I might even ask about a boat !! |
My mom lives in Haddon Heights, you can drop the engines you won't be using on her porch.
