Re: WANTED!!! rodboxes
Fish,
No dock lights at Marina Shores? I guess when I think about a marina it won't be there. That stinks. :( |
Re: WANTED!!! rodboxes
yea there are some lights but none on the dock. there is one big one under the sign but you still need some type of light to guide your way through. i tink there going to put them in of the wet slips though, but not the dry slips were your boat is hoisted out by forklifts. >:(

yall have different electrical set up than i do. both my batteries can crank and they both can supply power to the things the alternator can't. i am not sure if a boat is like a car but the batteries main purpose is to start the motor then the alternator runs everything. the batteries can help supply power but they cant do it for ever, even with the alternator charging them. ;) |

Is the bracket bolted on yet, if not, when is a good time when you wont be home. *;D ;D ;D |
Re: WANTED!!! rodboxes
Hey BuilderFl. Did you make the bracket ?, was it hard to make a temp to fit the curve in the transom.
This is all the cash I got right now. Willing to make simular payments in the same amount each month to get that bracket . *;D ;D ;D ;D http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...r/DSC02110.jpg |

Re: WANTED!!! rodboxes
Stupid question of the day for all you bracket guys.
How do you mark the holes from the bracket to where you are gonna drill through the transom. Does the bracket come with a template to mark the holes on the stern ?? It something you cant do by simply holding the bracket up with one arm flush and level and marking the holes out. *;D Is the bracket threaded ?, seen one company that has the bracket threaded, you thread bolts to the bracket first, then bolt/nut the bracket on to the transom. BUILERFL, post pics when you mount my bracket to my transom. * ;D ;D ;D |
Re: WANTED!!! rodboxes
The custom aluminum bracket was done by A & J Marine Welding in Miami using a template of the transom curve we made - $1,600.00. Once completed, we place it against the transom using a forklift and marked the holes – check out this site for complete measuring and installation instructions: http://www.dadmarine.com/doc.htm
Will continue to post progress pictures. Check my gallery for new pictures. |
Re: WANTED!!! rodboxes
thats a good site for measurements FL!!
I did the same as FL, We set up a platform got the bracket against the boat and marked to holes. But sounds easier then it really is!! I guess it is easier if you have 3x3 individual washers on each bolt. But I made a full bracket on the inside of the transom, there fore I had to get all the screws from the outside of bracket threw 1 hole then threw boat, then threw inside hole. Was a PIA getting them all to match!! :-/ I thought this would be the strongest way! http://www.wellcraftv20.com/gallery/...icture_016.jpg |
Re: WANTED!!! rodboxes
M.J. I gotta agree wit brother, that looks like a major PIA with all those bolts. Measure ten times and drill once I hope.

Re: WANTED!!! rodboxes
This is how we set-up for the transom bracket.

Re: WANTED!!! rodboxes
Great Pic. BUILDERFL. Keep those pics a coming. ;D
|
Re: WANTED!!! rodboxes
Yep thats pretty much what mine looked like to begin!
But I had to do some re drilling as I was going, as I drilled straight in and the bracket on the inside seemed to be a hair higher then the out side bracket. Thats were using 3X3 1/4 square washers come in, they give you more room to play then the whole thing that I have. |
