Re: VA. V For Sale
The boat has two bids on it. Any of our members here bidding on it ??? "Hope So". ;)

Re: VA. V For Sale
I looked at her yesterday but have not bid yet. Joe was very nice and I appreciate the time he took on Sunday to show me the boat etc. The boat itself is in phenomenal condition....better than the pics even show I think. The motor being "salty" as it is and not having a chance to really run the motor at idle well and do an in water sea trial is my only reluctance now. I never thought I'd buy a boat that I didn't see run in the water...just like buying a car that I haven't driven but who knows I may just be paranoid.
I'll keep you all updated...only 1 more day of the auction! Thanks again Joe! ;D |
Re: VA. V For Sale
Did you do a compression test on the motor?? Thats about the best test you can do to see what shape she is in.
did you remove the lower unit oil plug to make sure it had oil and not water?? How did it idle on the hose? Did you let it run for lets say 10 min and feel the pisser water, to make sure she wasn't getting hot? Used motors are always a crap shot at best!! But if you get a season or two, then you can decide on what you want to do. Or it may last you 10 years?? But at least you know you have a great hull thats worth re powering at sometime!!!! Good Luck!! Good Luck! |
Re: VA. V For Sale
Sorry guys, I must have missed something here. Who the hell is that "Fishbone" you keep talking about and what did he do to get everyone pissed off? :-/
|
Re: VA. V For Sale
LOL...... ;D ;D ;D ;D
Boy thats a long story. But I could get alot of posts out of it. ;D |
Re: VA. V For Sale
Ok, CY. here it goes. Fishbone Jr. joined the site stating he was an attorney. He lived in a big mansion, owned severa sport cars and had his own limo and Limo driver.
He also had a V-20 and I think another boat as well. He posted pics. of his mansion and everything else. But this guy spelled worse then I do and the stories wernt adding up. We finally broke him...we thought and he confessed that he was a30 year old guy that does construction. Well, that story didnt add up. After a few more interviews, he finally confessed that he was 12 yrs. old. So it was really lies after lies until he left the site on his own. if he was truthful from the start, he would have been the yougest V-20 kid with the best knowledge on boats, but then again, we post some PG-13 and above stuff that may have caused us problems, so now you need to be a certain age I believe to be here. Fishbone Jr. was teh name of his make believe boat as well. He posted pics. of it, but somebody else must have owned it. P.S. couldnt you tell when you seen Lisa and I in O.C., that we are really only 12 years old. :P :P :P :P :P |
Re: VA. V For Sale
Gator Bait, are you bidding?
I put the first bid in and there is currently 2 bids..... Less than a day to go, I guess we will see ;D If I win this I may have to talk to Randleman and stop by on my way home to put a nice Merc 150 on this clean boat..... |
Re: VA. V For Sale
I am the second bidder.... ;D
|
Re: VA. V For Sale
I haven't bid yet. Not sure if I will or not as I am not really ready to re-power right away I don't think and that's what I would want to do...Randleman's Merc is clean and would make a package that is nearly perfect!
Good luck!!! :D :D |
Re: VA. V For Sale

Re: VA. V For Sale
Wasn't me either :'(
I tried but it went above what I was willing to pay for a boat I haven't seen in person........ Next time ;D ;D ;D |
Re: VA. V For Sale
Thanks everyone for the interest in the boat. I'm sorry to see her go. I know that is not the last v-20 that I will own. The buyer was a guy who lives in PA but has a summer home on Chincoteague Isalnd. Hopefully our Eastern Shore contingent will see him out on the water.
