Re: Desperately Seeking Windshield
Hey Guy,
Not sure if you're still looking (I've been "away" from the Site for over a year).... anyway, I met this guy on the Eastern Shore of Maryland in Easton (across the Cheasapeake from Annapolis) who had a V20-Steplift he was stripping for parts, I think he still had the windshield about a year and a half ago. He has a whole "Boneyard" of old boats and a warehouse full of parts. He actually had several heat exchangers for the fresh water cooling on my boat, and his prices are pretty cheap. If nothing else, he may know of one somewhere. No website, got to call, and they aren't quick about pciking up the phone either... it's a real Father & Son kind of operation. His company Marine Mart His name Irvin Horne His number 410-822-0166 If that doesn't work, and you're still looking, I am thinking about scrapping my "project boat" because I just don't have the time and money right now.... not since I have another running boat. I may be willing to sell you the windshield off it.... the scrap idea is only a few days old.... but right now I think I'd get more for the trailer and selected parts than the boat as is.... but I'm not sure. |
Re: Desperately Seeking Windshield
Stay tuned for the next exciting episode of "As The EnclosureZip's!!
In this episode Jester trying to muster in on Mulv action! Stay tune for the next part wer this show is really going to get explosive!! |
Re: Desperately Seeking Windshield
Jester has a gallery I thought. His V didnt look bad at all from what I recall. Unless he has another V.
:Just One More" was the name of his V I thought. Gotta check. ;D |
Re: Desperately Seeking Windshield
That would be a great parts boat. Its in his gallery.
|
Re: Desperately Seeking Windshield
Just to clarify, the windshield purchase with Mulv is near complete. Funds have been exchanged. We are avoiding the shipping issue by having my brother pick it up near Philly on his way by during his Washington to Boston trip next week.
|
Re: Desperately Seeking Windshield
Sounds great!!!!!! Thats the best way to do it!
Now the question is what about the enclose?? Me first :-* |
Re: Desperately Seeking Windshield
Just a suggestion. Side windshield glass broke on my 78 cutty. Replaced with 1/4 " "Lexan" and it has lasted over 5 years.
|
Re: Desperately Seeking Windshield
Yeah, whats up with the enclosure. ;D ;D LOL.
|
Re: Desperately Seeking Windshield
???
|
Re: Desperately Seeking Windshield
I will be pulling the enclosure out of storage by the end of next week. I'll inspect it and take some photos, but without the windshield being in place I won't be able to show it attached. I had just had some zippers replaced before I put it away. I stored it nice and flat, so it should still be in fine shape. Stay Tuned.

http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t...losure005a.jpg I may want to keep it (Now that I have taken possession of Mulv's windshield). It looks like new and all zippers work great. |

MJ:
I confirmed with the wife-2-be that we are definitely coming to the Cape this weekend. I have a looong list of to-do items, but I think the priority has to be getting the trailer ready to bring it home to Boston. The only way this thing will see the water before June is if I can work on it at home during the week. Unfortunately, I also have to do some fiberglass work before I can re-install the fuel tank, but it looks like it will still be too cold (50ish). Anyway, since I'll be around, feel free to come measure the enclosure. Just let me know an approximate time you are available to come over on Saturday afternoon and I'll call you. Do you know how to get to Barnstable Harbor? |

Re: Desperately Seeking Windshield
Need some updated gossip here. Is M.J. still going to check out the enclosure, is mulv selling him his spare windshield ???
|
Re: Desperately Seeking Windshield
Gossip Update:
The windshield was procured from Mulv 2 weeks ago, but have yet to install it. I want to replace the center glass on the walk-thru. So, I put the enclosure together to take pics with the intention of trading it back to Mulv or selling it, however the wife-2-be (getting married 4/28) would like to keep it because she gets "chilly". MJ and I did not hook-up that weekend so we are planning on him coming over to take enclosure measurements this upcoming weekend, assuming he can move enough on the bad tootsie. |
Re: Desperately Seeking Windshield
Congrads on the wedding and the windshield from Mulv.
Mulv's a good guy, he got me hooked on this site. So when do "WE" expect to get our wedding invites. We have a few good wedding crashers here I think. ;D |
Re: Desperately Seeking Windshield
Thanks for the kind words Hammer :)
Boat, I have both pieces of the center hatch. I wasnt sure if you needed them or not. Let me know and maybe we can work something out. |
Re: Desperately Seeking Windshield

He is not getting rid of the top anymore, he is keeping it. I am going there to take measurements in case I have to make one, I have something in the works in the back ground were I might be getting one some place else, But if it doesn't work out I will have the sizes and make my own. And yes trading is always nice!! everyone makes out, and I like that! |
