Like they say; one pic is worth a thousand words...did you take pics of this project of yours?

I plan on dropping the lower end of my 150 OceanRunner looper and I'd like to see some pics of the top end shift linkage disconect.

Thanks

Joe

I have a 1994 and you have a pin that holds the shift lever in place (located on the front of the motor under the lower carbs). You pull out the pin and this allows the shift lever to slide back and forth so you can disconnect it from the shift rod. On mine I have to give it some throttle so the shift lever will not hit the lower carb. Its not a very hard job and I can have mine off in about 15 min. if I do not run into any problems. Mine is off now so I can replace the o rings which seal the unit where the shift ride enters the lower unit. They get corrosion aboud the orings pinching them against the shift rod making it stiff to use.

I used up yet another motor! Really the motor was fine it just rotted all around and just wasn't worth sinking more money in. So I have now come to the dark side!
