I almost didn't make it in yesterday. All my fishin', chickin, whatknot got phuck'd.
I did finally make it though after what seemed like a million little things. Sorry guys, my girl was the only one with the camera. But she had a lot of clothes on anyway cause of the wind. I'm calling it my pre-launch day. I promise to get you dawgs something to bark at later. As far as the boat, with 60 gallons of fuel and 4 people she did 37mph right off the bat. Hopped on plane real good. I could not be more impressed with the lowrance unit with the LMS-400. At WOT she drank 15gph with a full load. I see what ya'll mean about the weight distribution though. I need to drop the engine as low as possible. I was seeing the top of my hydrofoil. Tested my bait pump too. I wired a "minuteman 2" bait timer into my switchbox that allows me to have 2 pumps (in and out). This will let me utilize the in deck 18 gallon livewell at the stern.
All in all it was a very satisfying day. Even without the bikini. I'll take more picks on the next outing. Thanks to all who provide here.

Nice job Whatknot. Glad you got her wet.......uh, the boat I mean.

I wouldn't be worried about your fin coming out of the water on plane. How did it handle is the question. On my flats boat the cavitation plate is about 2 1/2" s out of the water with the jack plate all the way down, you oughta see it when I raise it up to get her movin. And from looking at your pictures and your balance, I would get some small trim tabs(BENNETT M-80's).

Whatknot, very nice looking boat! You have all the ingredients I would want in a V20: full transom, center console, with a 150. That said, I noticed that she sits a bit heavy at the stern. Mine does too, but at a stop my scuppers are still just above the waterline, though depending on the water conditions they bounce above and below the waterline. It looks like your scuppers are totally under the water even at a stop. Was water coming into the boat through them? This makes me believe that getting a 150 instead of my 200 really wouldn't make anything better as far as the way she sits in the water... Also, was your bait tank full at the stern? That would also weigh it down back there. My bait tank is also back there; factory installed. Don't know why they put it there...

Truth be told, I haven't seen many water shots of V20's where the scuppers weren't close to being under water. I suppose this is a design flaw in our boats :head:

Nevertheless, your boat is beautiful. Good work!

BGA, it looks as though he is running a late model 150 YAMAHA which would be essentially a 200 de-tuned. So his engines weight is pretty close to that of your 200.

Ahh, okay. Thanks Ferm, that makes sense...

By the way, I sent you an email last night. Did you get it? I should have sent it through the PM's instead... sorry about that...

Yep, I got it. I responded back to your Email, but AOL has been lacking for me lately in delivering them.

No worries, just wanted to check and see if you got it. I'll use the PM's next time ;-)
