Re: 92 johnson 175
well I and a friend just took a 1985, Yamaha 40hp, it was all messed up!!
Pulled the plugs, dumped Marvel in there came back 2 days later and tried to start, *Took a min, but that thing spun like a well lubed women! Pulled the carbs, took bowls off cleaned jets and what not. Yesterday the thing started and ran like a champ! But not pumping any water, removed the lower unit and will be replacing this week. This is on a motor that I said should be trashed!! I gave it no hope what so ever!! So give it a shot, don't spend anything on it, just oil it up and see what happens! |

Re: 92 johnson 175
VJ175EXENC means
V= Boat Builder motor design J= Johnson 175= Horsepower E= Electric Start X= 25" Shaft EN= Motors Year (E=9, N=2 means 92 yr) C= Model Run ( C means 3rd run that yr) |

Re: 92 johnson 175
you have nothing to loose open it up and send me pics of the insides first actually take the heads off the motor post pics of the cylinders that will help on the cost of a rebuild. look on ebay and find you an OMC or Johnson /Evinrude motor shop manual for your motor find the one for the 1992 motor in your HP it will walk you through all the tear down and rebuild.

Re: 92 johnson 175
here's 2 of the manuals you need. the EN which means 92 is actually the one you need but these should work.
This one is a JOHNSON EVINRUDE FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL EI 60 degree LV MODELS 150 175, the EI means 1991 Manual http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JOHNS...QQcmdZViewItem http://www.gatorweb.com/ebay/507950copy2.jpg This one is a JOHNSON EVINRUDE FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL ET 60 degree LV MODELS 150 150C 175, the ET means 1993 probably better for you than the 1991 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JOHNS...QQcmdZViewItem http://www.gatorweb.com/ebay/508286copy2.jpg |
Re: 92 johnson 175
yikes here's a 1992 on ebay but it's high, I'd say the 1993 would do just as well buy it at a cheaper price but either way this is the type manual you need.
1992 150 175 HP REAL EVINRUDE JOHNSON EN SERVICE MANUAL * http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1992-...28797371QQrdZ1 http://i11.ebayimg.com/03/i/03/f6/0c/bb_1_b.JPG |
