Re: 100 hr service
Gotcha Franco, I guess the first year or so would be best with a Yammie Cert mechanic.
I am still available for general step and fetching though ::) And Pipe, it's good you took a break, I've been in a semi trance for weeks now :P |
Re: 100 hr service
Got the boat back last Friday, kind of a good news/potentially not so good news thing . . .
First things first, the motor is running great (not that it wasn't before the service), and with a freshly cleaned belly the PD is really scooting. Bad thing is, when we got her out of the water and had a good look, there are some fresh cracks in the paint on either side of the aluminum "cap" that the engine is mounted on. Ordered paint to fix an unrelated ding, and when it comes in they're going to pull off the engine and check out the transom. I sure hope that the cracks are only superficial. :-/ I "sounded" the transom as best as I could, and couldn't hear any potential trouble spots, but what do I know . . . |
Re: 100 hr service
Do the cracks expand or close when you bump the engine up and down with your body weight. You can also use the power tilt to bump it while you watch

Re: 100 hr service
Hadn't thought of that, Willy. I'll give it a try.
