Oooohhhh, Glad I posted before I went out on thursday ::) that could of been bad.
See what sucks is the fule line is hard lined right into the engine, so I gues I will have to disconnect there and pump what I can with the ball. Then fill her up.

as you can hopefully see, next to were the water is drained for normal cooling is a intake for the hose to plug into.
But I;ll wait on this one until I get the goahead from hte pros. ;D
Alright, pump out as much as I can, I think there is about 12 gallons in there, then fill her up and change the fuel filter.
Actually, I need to find the internal fuel filter first, any hints? ::)
I have a external fuel/water seperater which I will take care of.

Sean, mine is a 200 johnson and it is located in the bottom right corner of this pic. I went to autozone and got a see thru fuel filter that fit. it works great and i can keep a eye on it to see if it gets dirty. Disconnect the hose from infront of the filter and pump your ball till a flow runs the fuel out. Take it thru the bilge area so gravity will help drain. Z

Every answear sparks another question :-/

some of you keep reffering to running the line thru the bilge area. OK, if I disconnect the fule line from infront of the internal gas filter, I remove the line intirely from the motor thru the sock (my gas line is hardlined into the engine, no plug) and I can just pump the gas with the ball. I am lost about the bilge area ??? ::) ???
Also I am going to pump the old gas thru the external water/fuel filter then change that once I am done, fill up with new gas, runn it out and then change again.
Sorry for repeating myself over and over, I just want to make sure i got it right. I got secreat spot thats ben holding some good sized strippers (30+lbs) the last few days and I need to make sure I get out there Thursday night, prime conditons!! ;D

The key is your pump ball, if its between the water seperator and the engine than disconnect at engine. If its between tank and water seperater disconnect at water seperator. You need the pump ball to start flow... take thru drain in bilge area so its low, fuel line should fit thru that drain into containers... When you have hose off, put a bolt into fuel line so it dont spill fuel inside area... Z

i may be being over cautios here but, i would disconnect the battery FIRST. and if the bilge pump is connected directly to the battery disconnect it too. all it takes is one spark!

good job racer, hell i would take the batteries out all together if they sit on that shelve in the center of the boat. here is a pic of the boat i'm workin on... the center door is where the batteries go on this one. Z

yes with alittle help from a engine hoist i have. cleaned the foam out all 4 sides, took out the fuel sending unit and put a large bolt sideways thru that hole and pulled up, it came out. It went in wasnt sure it was gonna come out but it did. New one i had built went in alot easier... Z

WOW, there was alot more gas then I thought! Well the drainage went off fine, just little spilage ::)

So I go to put some new gas in the tanks, ya the gas cap is stuck on! It almost look like it is a rubber/plastic material, but it has been sitting in the direct sun all day and it is humid out, so I assume it should come off tonight when it cools down.
