Re: Cheep repower
seems to me if one was pickled the other is also...i'd have to hear that puppy run...if it does thats a steal.

Re: Cheep repower
Fiddle, hear it run, have a compression check done, it would be hard to dunk one engine and not it's twin, unless the block cracked or a head gasket type of thing.

Re: Cheep repower
I belive one motor is good one bad!!
What makes you guys not belive that?? That is why a lot of guys have twins, just incase one craps out you have the other! Maybe the one wasn't getting oil or something, in this case a gasket might have gone?? Just have it checked out from a good mariner and see, I bet you will be fine and have all the parts you ever want! If I had the money I be looking at a deal like that! |
Re: Cheep repower
If I hadn't already done the work I've done to mine, I'd be asking you for the number to that marina... :P

Re: Cheep repower
You can get most of your $2300.00 back if you sell your existing motor.

Re: Cheep repower
Well they are mine now. Had to match the price the wholesaler was giving $2500. I hope that it lasts as long as my '91.
I will keep everyone posted when I start the work. I know that I will have many questions. I may also sell my "91 150 and possibly parts from the spare. 2F |

Re: Cheep repower
Port engine drank the salt water. That should be the counter rotating engine.
