Wow, I guess Merc uses the same gearcase on I/O and OB, that looks exactly like the one on my 150 OB.

I always replace my entire water pump it runs around $35.00 and its worth the peice of mind. It does not take much for those things to cause a problem.

Care to let me know where you are getting an entire water pump for $35.00? I can't find them that cheap.

you might get the impeller kit for $35, But a whole kit is going to be $100+

I bought the whole kit from the Mercury dealer in Elizabeth city N.C. for 46.00. Got the top,water tube,impeller,all gaskets ,O rings,bottom and all in one box,factory replacement parts.

And yep, MERCURY outboards V4+ used the same impeller as the MERCRUISER outdrives used up till 90(ALPHA 1, GEN 2's used a different larger impeller).

That is a good price, too bad it's for the wrong one. I'll look closer at his store when I get some time.
