Here's the reason it did this the cap in the reed body cracked and let it suck air in and leaned out

but remember i only paid $49.95 for the whole motor and then took out the pistons re-ringed and put in a piston and new head gaskets, i have total of $94.15 in it. and now has 98 to 102 on all cylinders in compression.

How bad was the cylinder wall? Did it take a lot of honing to make it right again?

no not really it looked just like the piston same shape. i bar honed to get round and no scores and then ball honed both directions (a must on 2 strokes) to smooth out the ports edges then installed new piston and rings tested compression and has 102 PSI so better than factory.

Skools, you did all the honing yourself? Impressive!

We sure do have quite a bit of talent on this forum. We should have an annual workshop conference at Skool's place. It could be 3-5 days and cover areas such as two stroke maintenance and repair in addition to a class on creative fiberglassin' ;D

What do you say Skools? We could pitch tents in your yard.

That's what I was expecting when I first started looking at this one.

I've been trying all week to get back in touch with them, because for the right price I might still be interested. Unfortunatly I haven't been able to talk to them since. Either no one answers or the person I was dealing with isn't there.

yeah i honed her out and cross hatched the cylinder and put back together. i love it when a plan comes together. BGA you should have bought this motor and resold since it was 15 min from ya and only cost $49
