Re: New Project

That's the way you do it.
Don't think it'll be easier and look better without the bowrail? More hole filling yes, but ???

LOL. Won this on E-Bay for only 99 cents. ;D
Super thick and strong, but will suck up alot of West System. :o
2ft short though, gotta pull out my scraps. Get done work in 55 minutes, then its back to work on the hatch cover. 8)

Re: New Project

Well, I hit the wood with a grinder to get a good bond and went to town with th eWest System this morning. Have just about anything heavy I could find with weight to stack on top of the hatch cover.
Cure time is 8 hours. Wondering if I should let it set longer or not ???
Know a few guys had problems with bonding.

i like that you are still charging the battery while using it for weight, call it "shop multitasking"

Well. I added three layers of glass along the outside corners and two layers on top. As you can see, I had an extra piece of wood and decided to double her up.
She turned out "Super Strong" !!. ;)

Cleaned it up with a quick coat of primer.

Didnt do to much fine tuning, quick sand job and some left over primer.

Quick primer job on the topside as well. Didnt cut the hole out. Might wait, in case I decide to relocate the tanks. The tank location on these early years really suck. Dont understand why you have access to only half the tank, while the other half is under the deck that cause's a soft stop due no support. >:(

Re: New Project

Looks good, what no access hole no more? ;D

msbhammer 10-29-2007 08:14 AM

Re: New Project

Might move the tank forward, causing me to move the access hole. But that involves cutting out the ....bulk head..I think you call it and moving it forward and reglassing it in.
Need to inpect the tank and then decide. The foam is soaked, so i might be doing that today.
It gets me out of wet sanding the hull. That jobs sucks. :(
