Re: Repowered with 200hp
Carl, I am in Fairfield County CT. The motor is a '04 leftover and that was the only one he had. It is from the Baitshop in Rowayton. I think his webpage is www.thebaitshopinc.com. There is another place in CT that I was looking at that is northeast of here in Westbrook called Atlantic Outboard - www.atlanticoutboard.com that looked like it had great deals. I wanted to stay local though. But it looked to me that Atlantic had the best prices that I saw in the metro New York area and definately better than Fairfield County. The carbed '05 150 Yamaha was $9k in Westport at All Seasons Marine and an Etech was $11,500 (both before haggling). Check out Atlantic's webpage and the "specials" section, he's got a Johnson 150 for $7,999 and a 175 for $8199 on there. Good luck.

Re: Repowered with 200hp
The problem with Yamaha is that they no longer allow you to Install it on your own!!!
You will VIOD the warranty!! If you do so! You have to have it installed by a yamaha dealer and this just ads to the cost. For that reason my buddy went with Johnson and I did all the work for him here in my yard. Johnson is a great motor and I have a Yamaha right now but for money reasons I would be putting Johnson if repowering!! |
Re: Repowered with 200hp
Atlantic Outboard usually has pretty good deals listed from what I've seen.
