Seakindly, I think you'd want to fast troll with the big motor to get anything above 5mph. I'm glad this topic was brought up. I was about to start this very thread! I was leaning toward 15hp, but 9.9hp sounds sufficient and a good bit lighter.

I have a 1994 25 HP Suzuki two stroke/oil injection elec. start as my kicker on my 1971 v20 I/O 165 hp. I haven't dropped it in the water since I'd installed the kicker bracket. I am anxious to see what she does. :o
