LOL Yea I will get a pic later today!!

Nothing special!! Long *** sign pole with a holder on the end, sets on the trailer and motor sits in it.

Seacrets,

How long have you used it and have you ever used a regular transom saver before?

I'm just curious because this mywedge thing looks likt it doesn't attach to the trailer, so I'm wondering how well it would actually work?

Your thoughts?

Used it for three years with no issues. I never used the metal unit that attaches to the trailer. I've towed my boats 500 miles round trip with no problems and no transom damage. Same motor has been on the transom for 22 years. 1985 Mercury 150 hp V6.

I'm confused as usual, isn't the idea behind a transom saver to tie some of the weight of the motor to another source besides your transom. I know bouncing a lot can also be a problem and I see that that rubber piece may dampen some of that like a shock absorber effect. But it still has all the weight on the transom and no transfer of energy to anything other than the transom.
I was considering doing some type of saver for my boat but this would be a lot easier obviously. So am I off base with the concerns ???

Same motor as the 200 /225 from 1988 to 1999

i am looking at a 91 200 johnson that has 90 pounds at all six cylinders. his says 115 pounds. if the motors are the same, does this mean the one i am looking at is worn out? my 79 150 evinrude has close to 105 at all 6 and that already had me worried

Rcer, the #'s arent as important as the DIFFERENCE between the numbers...if they are all close to the same then thats good. ;)

Racer, 90 lbs does sound a bit low, but i'm no mechanic!

What state do you live in?

I had my eye on this 175 from the Wilmington boys:

If you live in or near MD, this 200 also looks good, but it may need some carb work:

This 200 also looks appealing:
