OK, I got a nice year end bonus so now I am ready to pay it off. I went by the shop to do so and he says he dont know when he will be able to get his hands on a 7mag barrel in stainless since it is hunting season. He has a .300 in stainless though...what do yall think? Go .300 or wait on lucky 7? ???

Stink I like the 7's , my favorite rifle is an Obendorf Mauser in 7x57. But buying new and looking for that all around big game rifle it would have to be the 300 Win Mag. JMHO

Thats kinda what I was thinkin Willy...lighter loads for WT and if I ever get to go up North for Elk, moose, bear I will be ready will a heavier 180 or 200 grain load.. ;D

I got her....I shot her...I am in love. 8)


On a side note, the TC in .300 win mag doesnt kick as bad as I expected. I had a 30.06 in bolt action synthetic that I absolutely dreaded shooting. :x If I got off 3 shots I was hurting bad. :roll: I shot the .300 4 times and didnt feel taken advantage of. :shock: I will attribute the tolerable recoil to the heavy barrel on the TC and the handgrip on the stock. It isnt scoped but the weight of it is very comparable to my fully scoped wood Remington 700.....I held them side by side and I even think the TC was a little heavier. :)

The barrel break (trigger gaurd) is smo-o-o-th and the gun locks back closed with a SOLID latch. Overall seems to be a sweetly engineered rifle. I wont know what kinda groups it shoots till later this summer, but I feel from reports Ive heard and articles Ive read I wont be disappointed. 8)

Congrats Stinky, the Remington with standard style stock will generate recoil straight back and sharply. The TC stock config tends to spread recoil a little better. Your going to like that one. Met a guy a few years ago with the Encore like us with 4 barrels for it covering everything. Loved it .

JK, anyways, yeah I had her all ready for bed, dressed and everything and then the wife came in and moved her. :o She made me put her in the gun closet! ::) She sure is gonna be lonely in there without me rubbing her. :'(
