I've ridden in a Seaway Center Console and I do not like them at all. They're real pretty but they handle very poorly in even average seas. First of all they are wet as hell. Secondly It's a round bottom boat (almost flat bottom), so you rock like crazy. Third the entry is real sharp . . . you kill yourself in following seas.

Stay away or use it for a planter in your front yard!!!

Tin - This is the boat has your name written all over it!!!!

This will be small enough for the flats
It's got a suzuki 140 already and a 2003 trailer!!!!
The 18 has a nice raised platform in the front for flyfishing too.

Just buy this one and stop killing me with these panga and seaway boats . . . I'm going gray.

Don't listen to them, Tin. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I'm a downeast boat junkie, too. If this boat suits you, buy it! ;)

I'm all about function . . . if cruising on flat water at 20 mph is your thing . . . then it's fine. Any other conditions . . . forget it. Seaway makes a pretty boat, but it's about as seaworthy as a canoe.

Downeast boats usually are heavy, have a keel, and a heavy diesel motor (i.e. low center of gravity). Seaway is a flat bottom, narrow, outboard powered, light boat . . . stay away. Just my opinion.

Would take the 18 cc fish any day over the other one. They seem to be a very capable boat. Haven't really heard one bad thing about them or the V20 CC. And the Johnson 140 4 stroke is a very nice choice of power for that boat!

Now THAT's the kind of Downeast boat I'm talking (and usually dreaming) about.
