 Re: toshiba sucks

Good deal. I did tons of research when I bought mine and found the same thing, Toshiba and Hitachi the best. My Toshiba was right next to A sony and the Toshiba's picture was so much better.
To maximize the most of that set, don't skimp on wires. I have all monster cables and a monster cable power/surge box, big money but it definately gives the best picture. |

Also according to the TV repair center here, guy been fixing them for thirty years says if you open up a Toshiba and compare it to any other brand you will be surprised to find they are the best engineered TV's made, and have been for a very long time. |

Good stuff Racer. Im glad they took care of you. I know what brand to buy in the event that I grow up and can afford a Plasma. I want one bad!!!
But I have started wanting in one hand and crapping in the other...guess what I learned? Im full of crap. ::) |

 Re: toshiba sucks

I cant afford a plasma so I had to settle for a 36" tube job.
Short story. The misses and I were looking at a 32" to replace the old console. I did most of the research and liked Panasonic. What I really wanted was the 36" but I know she wasnt going to agree to the extra $200. So we go the Boscovs ready to purchase the 32", it just so happens that they had the 32 sitting next to the 36", WOW what a difference. As we are looking at the 32 the wife starts trying to talk me into the 36". "Were getting older and our eyes won't be getting any better" . I let her go on for a while and then gave in to her. To this day I have not told her any different. Got the TV home sunday afternoon, plugged it in, grabbed a beer and sat down. Turned on the tube, found the race and the first shot I saw was the front end of the 24 car doing about 180 mph, took up the whole screen, made me spill on beer. That was three years ago and havn't had any problems with it yet. |

been a gordon fan since he ran sprint cars. used to watch him and kinser battle it out and was amazed that a rookie could skool a wiley old veteran like kinser. in 93, when davey allison died, he quickly became my new favorite driver.
k willy, here ya go. when my wife was pregnant we were on our way to the hospital. i cut through a shopping center parking lot that the exit came out +/- 100 ft from the hospital entrance.when i got to the road thier was an auto accident. just a fender bender. this is a 3 lane road and the accident was in the lane farthest from me. so thier were still 2 lanes clear. a officer was directing traffic, what little thier was. it was 11 at night and not many cars. the cop directing traffic was, when i got there, yelling at a car, "c'mon you stupid mfers, i said go" i pulled up and he flagged me to go right. the hospital entrance was to the left. i tryed to holler at him what was up but, he wouldn't shutup long enough to hear what i was saying. i proceeded left anyway and he jumped in front of the truck and starting screaming. thier is this thought that goes thrue my head from time to time, "great, i'm fixin to go to jail" just so happened another cop with a little sense walked up to the truck before i could get out. i told him what was up and he saw my wife crying in pain. he hollered to the cop to let us thrue. that we were having a baby. mace, as i like to call him, slammed his hand on my hood and said "i dont care if thier having a f'in cow. I SAID GO THAT WAY". i replied "i bet you move" i brought the 350 to life and well, he moved. i was so close to the hospital that we were already inside b4 he showed up.we called ahead so we were alread on our way to the elevator when he caught up. he started cursing me immediatly. i told him to watch his language cause thier were kids present. he rode up on the elevator with us,yap yap yap. he walked down the halls with us, yap yap yap. when we got to the maternity ward he was told he could not enter. he cursed the nurse and came in anyway. all the way down the hall, yap yap yap. jen said "i wish he would just shut the hell up" i told her "he's a little b!tch and he aint gonna shutup till somebody knocks his teeth down his throat" so he told me to lay face down, i was going to jail for threatening a police officer. i said "i did not threaten you, i called you a little *****" he started to reach for his gun , yes, in the maternity ward. the hendrick hat spun around and i asked him :thiers 4 feet between us how fast are you" he promptly moved his hand away from his gun. thats when the nurse said thats it, i am calling security. she had told him to leave many times. my wife stepped between us and told him he had better leave me alone. so he pulled out his mace and threatened to mace us both and for us both to lay face down. i told him if he sprayed that mace the only person getting hurt was him. this was not a threat. it was a warning. i noticed in his shaking hand that the tip was pointed directly at his face, lol. secutity came over and the nurses led us to our room. he still wouldnt leave and was parked outside our door arguing with security and the nurses. one of the nurses informed us that they had already called the police and would be rid of him soon. i told her lt. chapman was a close friend of the family and was already on his way. he was riding with my mom and step dad to see the baby. then she took my wifes blood pressur and said we gotta get her pressure down or we may have a prob with the baby. that was it. i exploded out the door and before he could finish his little girly shriek he was toast. i was right, he was a little b!tch! cause he fell right to sleep. i was hoping to put at least a couple nots on his head. actualy, i wanted to beat him till the white meat showed! but, like i told the judge, i wanted him to shutup, and at that point, he was. i went back into the room and jen's blood pressure came down almost immediatly. thats all that matters. oh yeah, i never saw the inside of a jail cell and he is looking for a job! |

I'm with ya there Racer. There is just something that happens to an expecting father when taking the wife to the delivery room.
In my younger years I had trouble with my temper, but that would not have ended any nicer if it happened with my to trips to the hospital. With my first child, the wife went into labor and called the doctor to see how long we should wait. He said when the contraction get to 10 minutes apart come on down and well be waiting. My wife replied to him they were 5 min apart now. Welllll I guess you better hurry. I started out doing about 5 over the limit, but with each contraction I bumped the cruise up 2 MPH. Aint no way I'm delivering this thing my self. This was in 1995 so cell phones wern't very popular. By the time I reaches the town where the hospital is I was doing 85, even through the 45mph zones. Got to the hospital and started walking into the entrance when her water broke. A nurse standing by grabed a wheel chair and in one movement, scooped her up and took of for the elevator. I remained at the check in to fill out some papers, the whole time the receptionest was saying " almost done, you can go shortly", she was in a great hurry. I informed her that I wasn't in such a hurry now, I got her here and now the pressure is on you. Stayed with the wife through the delivery. Man what a wonderful thing to see first hand a child being born. What a miracle. |

when my wife went into labor it was kinda sudden, called the Dr., they were ready for us at the hospital....I thought to myself "perfect, I had always wanted to do that frantic mad dash to the hospital w/ a baby moments away". At the time we had, my favorite car, a BMW 535i and man that car was built for the open road. It was about 10pm so the typical parkway traffic was non existent. Cracked her up to about 105 and in 10 mins we were there. [105 in that car feels like 60] Two hours after that I had my boy....your life feels like it has completely changed from that point onward. That was six years ago. There is no writers embellishment to this story, I have a JVC 36", its been great, and I didn't get to punch out any cops on the way....... RX, that guy sounded like a complete idiot, he got what he deserved.
