well just hurry up and then you can come pick it up, it's not in a location for alot of traffic from out of area to see it so it may last.

Hopefully I can get all of my wiring done soon. Unfortunately though my 6.5 is in major need of repair, HYPERTECH chips are not very kind to 6.5's(hard lesson learned after the fact >:(). Head gaskets and freeze plugs are the best case scenario for the engine, but the tranny needs new frictions and seals as well as some valve body upgrades.

Thanks Skools. I've seen them with the factory pulpit but I haven't seen the winch setup you're talking about. That's what I'd like to see, and where the anchor line gets stowed.

back to the 300 idea, word is ther will be a lot of deals on 300 Suzuki's around soon, Suzuki had an issue with the ecm on '07 300's and held up deliverys, they got the problem fixed, but now we are into the '08 year model and they have a lot of '07's around, even at a great deal, they are still out of my price range

i took the pulpit off mine to work on it i have a pic of it let me find it and i'll show where the cable goes into the cabin onto a windless system. the grey is duct tape to cover the holes to avoid water. the red circle is showing the hole that's covered with tape but there's a roller that goes there.

Re: I want for my 250 Wellcraft

It has 175K on it now, but my tranny has the sealing ring issues in the valve body. The lock-up valve sticks in the bore though every once in awhile and it loses pressure to the lock-up clutch. I've had a couple of my friends that work on em everday look at it and nobody can figure it out. I figure I'll freshen it up just to be safe. My biggest problem's started when I did the optic bump to up the fuel with the #9 resister, made BIG power for a little while until the tranny started slippin. And my head gaskets went because the guy I bought my SUB from didn't change his coolant enough, he had the system flushed and all nice and clean though when I looked at it and bought it. Oh well, I still like my SUBURBAN ;D(and SMOKE!).

mine has the #9 and has had it for 90K miles no issues but i by passed the vacuum control for the turbo i hooked the turbo straight to the vacuum pump and now she makes 8 lbs of boost on reg driving and when into the throttle hard it gets 12 to 14 lbs of boost, it has been that way for the last 75K miles no issues so far. it pulls its *** off we checked it the factory had 192 hp w/ 295 ft lb torque was getting 17 mpg town and 19 hwy but now i'm making 267 hp w/ 433 ft lbs torque and gets 21 mpg town and 23 hwy now plus towing the 250 i get 19 mpg hwy.

What got me was my HYPERTECH chip I tried when I first got it. I wasn't paying attention for a few seconds and got on it to get out in traffic and the PYROMETER hit 1375 REALLY quick. These old IDI's don't like that stuff. Mine runs 7-8 sustained in stock form, spikes to 12 on accel. When I had the HYPERTECH I could throw my 2500 SUBURBAN sideways on dry pavement at will. But you know the saying, you play you pay. Aint no thing, I'll get it fixed shortly. She's next on the block. Done told everybody no more freebies, and my old girl is next in line.

Re: I want for my 250 Wellcraft

I used to work for a street sweeper manufacture and we used 6.5's in some of the trucks(they didn't hold up too good), we had issues with blown head gaskets and stuck injectors( These were N/a models). They took one of the heads to the fab shop and cut it up in 1" increments to look at the cooliing passages, they were some of the most restrictive, tight turn, full of slag coolant pasages I've ever imagined. We were getting surface temps of 325 right around the injectors under hard load( those trucks had two speeds, sweep and wide open, 45 mph). The injectors were sticking open under load from the excess heat and when you backed out of the throttle it would hydraulic the cylinders kicking the crank out the bottom. We initially had the temp sender located on the heads and couldn't get the temps lower than 225, GM told us to relocate the sender to the block, some fix! I heard one of the dealers had replaced the antifreeze with some type of special coolant(can't remember the name but its distributed by Mack Boring) that had superior heat transfer ability. That dealer had no more problems with head gaskets or injectors. After GM sold the tooling to those engines to AM General, they suppposable retooled everything and got them to hold up better(had to pass Military spec), Marine Diesel USA is selling those motors up to 425 HP in a supercharged version, they must have found something right.
