That's a SEASTAR PRO system, same one I have on my flat's boat. Works real nice ;D. You could probably save a couple dollars and go with the regular SEASTAR system, the PRO system has fewer turns lock to lock(4.25 to the regular 5 turns). The slower steering would probably work better for a V-20 FEESHIN boat, the faster steering is for high performance use(50+ MPH).

I have the slower one and it works great!

I have the older one that therm said, But it has been upgraded with a new ram and stuff from Sea Star.

I belive the pump is the old part, and I am sure it will die and leave me stuck some day, thats just my luck!!

Lumber:

Do it yourself and skip the mechanic. If you can paint your own bottom you can install hydraulic steering.

You can't find a much easier install, especially on a new motor.

Re: hydraulic steering

It is an easy install for the most part, no real need to see the mechanic unless your supporting him.

I have the Baystar system it is half the price of the seastar system. It is good for up to 150 hp. motors and looks just like the more expensive seastar system.

Re: hydraulic steering

you'll have problems with the baystar Parker use to usethem but found to have so many problems they went to cables in there smaller craft. they have to small of lines and the pump isn't strong enough to run the larger diam line. good luck with that best to buy the larger system.
