Re: net holder
The net usually gets stuck on the port side (to be out of my way) near the seat of the passenger. ;D
Another good place is along the windshield sides (someone has to be the point man). ::) |

Re: net holder
Start catching fish big enough to gaff and leave the net @ home. ;)

Re: net holder
You know I got to thinking about spearfishermen and was planning on making some kind of joke to Hammer on where he stores his net while diving.
I thought about - what if spearfishermen decided to go catch and release. The speargun could hurl a big net at the fish, then a couple of quick pix with the underwater camera and off to the next fish. Kinda seems crazy doesn't it? |
Re: net holder
Uh hu hu hu....that would be cool.

Re: net holder
Next chance I get when I put the top on and get the camera away from the main muff I'll take a pic and post.

Re: net holder
I gaff all striper I'm planning to keep, but not in the body - in the bottom lip. The main reason I don't gaff in the body is because I don't like getting the boat bloody b/c that means using the washdown more and when its cold I do NOT like using the washdown!
I do gaff a realeased fish. *For those I grab them by the lower lip and gill plate, remove the hook and send them on their way. My wife caught this 30lber (her first) 2 winters ago on our anniversary trip at Oregon Inlet NC: http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d7...y/S2010054.jpg |
Re: net holder
hey still
it's only illegal to gaff stripers in SOME states, Carolina ain't 1 of them, Virginia is one. garage |
