no, never got it to turn. nothing to grab on to. i broke the center bolt, tapped it out, broke another one! tried vice grips on top of crank, removed flywheel first, but it just kept slipping. thinking i might stop by welding shop tomorow and get them to weld a piece of pipe to the flywheel so i will have something to turn. cant think of anything else.

don't mess up the fly wheel or crank, i'll get you some pic of my homemade flywheel rig for holding while removing the center nut.

that would be great. at this point i am on a mission. this motor will turn! iworked on it all day today, stayed home from work, and am to the point where i am willing to trash this flywheel and buy another. hell, i even considered dynamite during the hottest part of the day!

i hate to ask this but do you have any pistons about half way in the middle of it's stroke? if so CAREFULLY take a piece of wood and put it on the piston and hit with a hammer some to see if the motor will turn. if you have more than one in the midle of a stroke rotate around the motor tapping them to try and get her loose. don't go wild knocking holes in the piston. post a pic of your flywheel so i can see if my rig type would work too. Your top hole in the pics is on the botton don't beat it, the other 2 look like ones to use but look at the other side too.

i drilled and tapped a couple of holes in the flywheel, then bolted a piece of flat bar to it so i could try and turn the motor. yanked on it for about 5 or 10 seconds and she broke free! prob so ez cause it has been soakin in mmo for a month. worked till it turned free all the way around. it was pushin some nasty lookin brown fluid out so i just kept sprayin MMO in the carbs and turnin till it was just clean MMO coming out. she turn free and smooth now! one thing, when the bottom starboard piston goes back in, when it passes the port hole in the wall it makes a sucking sound. i dont know if this is good, bad, insignificant. at any rate, what ya think skoolz? carbs next? should i get some 400 grit and soapy water, roll the pistons all the way in and 'hone' the cylinders? no race tomorow so i should have a little time to play. tx

but, i think you should take apart the starter, clean it out real good with some water, put it back together and spin the motor over and make sure you get all that nasty crap outta there. speakin of nasty crap, i better go find mommy cause thats HER job!

the sucking is good sound. means the piston is sealing andthe reeds are too. can't hone with the pistons in her you'd never get all the crap out of the cylinders. just keep the cylinders oiled and put a good starter on her and spin it alot without the heads on it and keep spraying oil on the cylinders while it spins over.

took the starter off and took it apart. didnt look bad but i hit it wiyh the water hose anyway and let it dry. was on front porch putting it back together when some dude lost his trailer right in front of my house. i dropped everything and went to street to see if anyone was hurt. came back and one of those little springs is gone. apparently never to be seen again. any idea where to find one?
