Do it! *Please? *I'm going for the teak for the same reason I made my deck out of cedar rather than the new plastics. *I'll probably finish it the way Fritz did his. *OK MJ CB is yours for the physical stuff I'll borrow his cebral waves at times. *Bill Mc ;D

Re: Bow Pulpit

I have a pulpit on mine and love it. I made it out of strips of teak 1.5" by 3/4" by 24". Glued them together and stainless allthread holding them together. I also added an aluminum chain plate with a roller. I was doing a lot of diving then and usually had 25 or 30 feet of chain on the anchor. This protected the teak. I run the line down through a deck pipe into the anchor locker. One trick I did learn was to put a piece of drain pipe (4" black accordian style) between the deck and the top of the shelf in the cabin. This helps the line in and out and keeps waterout of the cabin and off the shelf. This project is well worth doing. It adds a lot to the boat, cosmetically and usability.

The Material is 1 and 3/4 inch thick

11 7/8 wide
3 ft 1in long

13 inches of it overhang from the edge of the fordeck (not the rubrail)

The back edge (nearest the sliding hatch) is beveled at an angle. The bevel is 3 inches wide.

Starboard will work great for that!

Now I just have to get the anchor roller stuff.

Fillet, How did you back up the Fiberglass under the front of the cap? I have the same set up and had her anchored with some rough seas, the cap split in the center because the Fiberglass cap is so thin up there. I backed mine up underneath with 3/4" ply and bolted through it. I really like that anchor catch. What kind is it?
