More like 4-5 months horrible heat and humidity, 4 months of dodging the Canes, then 4 months of pure fishing and fun nirvanna.
Maybe when I retire I can get Lord Franco to build a wing on for me to rent 4 months a year. Yeah Yeah thats it
Hey Bud how bout it ;D

And Phes I'm looking at the same thing, was going to do it this year but held off because a fellow near hear had one for his RV and said it was OK, had to re stake his twice due to high winds in a storm but his biggest complaint was that the material only lasted about three years before it started coming apart, degrading around the seams and hold down points from UV and wind and rain and snow. Got a price for replacement cover that he felt was way too much. Going to think about making something else my self

I'm up here in the snow and cold. A guy near the cottage has had one of the canvas types for several years seems to be holding up well and not problem with the snow.

Migrating birds have it right, they go where the weather is best at the time. Sun block 35 is what I use year round. Bill mc ;D

Sorry guys, that was cruel. It does get hot and humid here, but no worse than where I lived if Virginia. Hey Willy, I'm thinking I need to build a fishing resort on the River down here. I'll reserve a cottage for you bud!

Another option: Build your own durn boat barn. Think about it, for the same amount of money you can frame it out of 2X4s , it won't fatigue, and still have money left over for a 20 year supply of green tarps. Also you'll be more man than the neighbors. Especially if you use a screw gun. PLUS you can't nail nudie calendars to metal poles.

Franco, I knew you had a dark side...time to turn!!...

That particular round top canvas cover looks good, but Willy's post kinda rules it out for me...money you put in will be there much longer if metal... ;)...

I don't know how much lumber is there, but I can't build a boat shed for $700 any time soon.

I built my boat shed for WELL under $700. All wood with metal roof. 24'long by 12' wide and 14' high. ;D

More info and pics would be great. Did you buy the materials (wood and metal)l or did you have it already?

Ericbh1, 14x24x12 is a pretty substancial structure, one that I certainly would NOT build out of 2x4's... I also am not really looking for the fuss of permits, inspections and a bump in my already grossly inflated property taxes. Like almost everything....you get what you pay....those 249.00 types you see at the Price Club would be a pile of "shat" at the end of season one. It's just another elected expence of boating
