Re: Off to Japan
Well I did it again tonight,
more bait only stayed away from the squid. tuna strips raw, not bad. shrimp, cooked, like normal. Eel cooked, boy does this get a bad rap, eel really tatses like a mild white fish, it was pretty good. |

Re: Off to Japan
If the Uni is fresh, (light to pale orange not light brown)ask for it.
Then again it's all to personal taste. Depending on the chef you will have the best or worst experiance eating, honestly we were served from the same chunk of meat by two different chefs and the difference was unbelievable. The chef we have been going to for over 10 years moved to partner another resturant about 20 miles away, we haven't had any since. Oh try Saba (mackeral), if fresh it's great. Tako (octopus) is much much better than squid. Just for the meanness of it appreciate the Wasabi (good on mackeral). Here it's green colored (artificial) there it's almost white, supposed to be much better. |
Re: Off to Japan
What happened, they send all the cookware to the US?
Tell em to deep fry that stuff! |
Re: Off to Japan
Sticky rice wrapped in a rice noodle and then deep fried,
that was good. Just a touch of wasabi for flavor is what I like, I am not a big fan of over condimenting my food, I like to tatse the food and not the condiment. So far, all the wasabi I have seen is green colored, lighter green than in the states, but still green. HAMMER, no special places, yet, but here are some pics I took: Shopping area in Nagoya, think of putting 20 shopping malls together to form a square, this place is incredible. This picture is just one street: http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...yashopping.jpg Nagoya temple: http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...goyatemple.jpg and this is where I had sushi last night, conveyor belt resturaunt: http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...hiinNagoya.jpg |

Re: Off to Japan
Sorry Hammer, no brass poles for gijoe.
I am typing this on my loaner laptop, my regular one took a crap while in Japan, I guess it was the bird flu. When I get my machine back, I will load some more pictures of interesting sites that I visited. |
