That may be exactly what’s appropriate. It should be a decision made by someone with all of our credible intelligence and the skill to execute appropriately. In Biden’s case, it will sadly be more a matter of luck if he gets it right.

Just for discussion's sake. If we enact the sanctions now, then why wouldn't Putin say to himself something like" Hell, they are already sanctioning me, what more do I have to lose? Go ahead and invade!"

See everyone? I asked a simple, honest question. I postulated a scenario where we impose sanctions before Putin does anything and then I asked for a discussion about it. Would it be effective? And this crap from Greene is the kind of answer I got in return.

So let me address Mr. Greene's comments.

First, I did not mock the free worlds plan to impose harsh sanctions. I mocked no one. I expressed my opinion that I thought they were too little, and way to late.

Second, I said that if I were in the military and if I was given a direct order from my superior officer to shoot people, under certain circumstances I would. It would not matter if they were neighbors or strangers. if they were disobeying a martial law and I was ordered to shoot I would. Mr. Greene obviously knows nothing about the military. His ignorance is legion. For his enlightenment and edification let me tell him that anyone in the military would shoot or run the risk of being shot themselves for disobeying a direct order.
