What is a stepside? I understand the hulls are the same between
the different deck layouts. Did WC only make 20.6 foot hulls back then?

I think you may have meant Steplift, not Stepside. A steplift hull refers to the lifting strakes that run along the bottom of the hull. As the boat gains speed they help lift the hull up out of the water so it gets on plane using less HP from the engine. Saves on gas, wear and tare on your engine.
Yes, WC also made several other hull sizes during the same time period that they made the V20. Most notably they made a V18 foot that looks almost identical to the V20. Towards the end of the production run they started make V21's also. Several guys here like blue_runner, bgreene and myself own them. They also made racing Scarabs in various lengths, as well as Coastal cruisers in the 25 foot range. |
