Very good. Thanks for the info. I will be doing some investigating in April, but I suspect that my 1978 Cuddy is in need of a stringer rebuild. The transom was already rebuilt, but is wet again. Major work ahead when I retire in 2 years. I am hoping to cut the caps off like Shunk references. Lots of planning...

D - couple of questions

Sanding........did you sand down removing the factory non skid pattern, or just light surface sanding ?

Paint choice...…we know there are many, Kiwi, Interlux, Tuff, Rust-Oleum, etc.
Why did you choose what you used ?

Wear...….is it really wearing that well ? Dirt, fish blood ( that dries) etc comes off JUST as well as the factory gel coat ? That would be impressive.

I might fuss and repaint my deck at some point...if I'm bored.

I gave everything a light sanding.

I knew I wanted truck bed type coating. Had just had my pick up truck done that spring with Rhinoliner and loved the way it came out. Rhino liner was WAYYYY too expensive, so settled on U-Pol cause I could buy it on eBay.

There is no paint. The color you see is the bed liner. It comes in both black and white and the white is tintable.

Yes, it really wears that well. I don't get to take her out nearly as much as I'd like to so the wear is negligible. All dirt and fish blood comes off with my small pressure washer. (1600PSI) I have a large gas powered unit (3200PSI) that I used in the beginning but it's a PITA to get out of the garage, set up, etc. The little electric unit seems to handle the cleaning chores just as well. (Most times on the way in I'll use the salt water washdown system to remove all blood and surface dirt so there's really not a lot of cleaning to be done).
