Sweet... even better than the thong pic!

I needed a live well for my small boat. This started with a utility tote from lowes. As with most ideas I come up with there is always one of two results: 1)Im a genius and this works great or 2) I just completely destroyed something. Risking an $8 utility tote from Lowes I went for it.
I found a size I liked and then heated it to to bend a "channel" of sorts in it for the wire trough running on the deck of my boat. It also has a small indention in the side for a wall support that sticks out slightly. This way it sits flat and secure on the boat floor even though the floor is uneven. It was a way to use an area that otherwise difficult to sit anything on as well. I formed it using a piece of 3" PVC and pressing down after it was soft. http://i1375.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4yqp7uds.jpg http://i1375.photobucket.com/albums/...psicpvflrc.jpg http://i1375.photobucket.com/albums/...pss545nkh1.jpg All stainless hardware through bolts with lock nuts. http://i1375.photobucket.com/albums/...pspocixfeh.jpg http://i1375.photobucket.com/albums/...psovyp27hs.jpg The PVC fittings are secured with 5200 of course and I rigged it like I have my other boat livewells. It can fill and circulate fresh water in that overflows out or just fill and run my 12V bubble box with dual outlets combined into one and ran to a large air stone. I usually use this option while adding bait saver to it for my shrimp. |

They are 16' and rated for a 70hp. They were designed for fishing around here for anything from lakes to the bays, rivers, marsh, etc... Really hard to come by and Lord willing Ill keep her forever. I always wanted one and actually found this one with a junk motor on it for a buddy about 10 years ago. He restored it and through a divorce had to sell a couple years ago so I sold the Wellcraft and jumped on it. Its perfect for anything I do. My favorite accessory it that 84# thrust Great White, she will SCOOT. LOL The only changes since these pics is a trailer axle lift/flip and 13" tires along with onboard charger and I have a pedestal and chair up front for fishing. Ill get some updated pics soon. |
