Some folks are touchy about stuff. I have to be careful because my post often sound smart alecky when I am really trying to be funny.

The number of "necessary" lighthouses have been shrinking with the advent of the GPS Chartplotter. Sorry for the loss of that landmark. On the bright side it will make some real good structure for marine critters to congregate. It was ripped off the foundation and I suspect it to be whole, wherever it came to rest on the bottom. The exact location will reveal itself in due time.

I'm sorry that the 'house is gone. I've caught many a fish around it and it's been a great landmark for quickly getting your bearings for me for years. The water there isn't all that deep... 20' or less in most places, so if the structure still survives it will be a hazard and have to be marked or disposed of. Sad.

I've been thinking for months of what I would say, and how to say it, for my 3000th post. But I can think of no finer way for me to make my 3000th than to speak up for, and to thank, the man that got me here in the first place. RWilson really doesn't need any defending, he's an upright guy that would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He's been helpful to me several times, and I'm still looking forward to the day when I actually meet him and shake his hand. So I'll simply say this.
"Hey, maybe the fish wont notice the lighthouse is gone", to me at least, was a funny comment, and frankly, after all we've been through with Sandy, funny is exactly what we need. Well done Rob!!! THANK YOU for being my friend!!

And thank you to everyone here for your friendship over the past few years!!!

Giorgio, I am going to miss that light too. The fish are going to still be there, good structure.
Rob Wilson?, he's alright. Can only take about ten hours straight of him though.
