How about double rigging the outrigger's two clips on each!:fight:

Phat, I fished the roller trollers on a flat line for years. Only in the past 2 years have I fished rubber bands on flatlines. Sounds like a great idea for riggers also. I always liked the idea of the stainless roller on those clips because fatigue does catch up with you on the mono especially if your like me, I count my free spool back to the spread and fish the same distance everytime and the wire style just makes me nervous after trolling a ballyhoo for long periods of time trip after trip. Or maybe I'm just being petty!! Lol!!

Blue there not going anywhere there yours. Come up and fish for a couple days and stay at the house in the spare room instead of spending money on a hotel.

Holy cow Curapa, the Sea Choice outriggers seem like a good deal. Especially for a 15' rigger. Just looked them up. And found the complete set up for $100 www.foreandaftmarine.com/50-88251.htm

2 clips are ideal. They would then be a long rigger and a short rigger.

Here's two shots of my old '74 w/outriggers...Got SOS bases (not cheap) and the Sea Choice poles (relatively cheap)...use Rupp clips and never hadda problem, but Kracker's right...what ever clips you use, make sure they will release before the pole does!!...lol!..One issue on these poles is the tensioner cord that keeps your clip-line tight...a close look at these will reveal them to be homemade...the store-bought were TOO stiff and did not allow enough "give"...and even using a lighter bungee cord, still had to make them longer than I really wanted...so had to do some custom fine tunin' to make it all work right, but It's never failed me and puts fish in the boat...

Jason these are 15'ers and I think are appropriate for a 20' boat...although I cannot think of a single reason from my experience that would rule out 18'ers...

I like the idea of the painter's poles...wouldn't be too hard to place one eye in the center somewhere and run a line up them...put it this way...If I ever fold these poles, it'll be a trip to the paint store for me...

My Miami Lees are going on the V. I will have to look around I think my dad has a pair of cheap Chrome plated bases.

Blue_Runner 07-30-2012 08:23 AM

No, Blue don't got no bases but I'd get some if I had some rigga's.
