Cause its the best motor EVER!

That is one sweet boat...I believe it is a testament to if you redo an old boat, you are best off keeping it cause you will never get back out what you have in it...even at $18k I'm sure he is taking a bath on it.

y'know, looking at what the guy did to the boat, 18 grand suddenly doesnt seem that steep anymore. it's basically a brand new boat.
but how does he access the fishbox under the platform in the bow? did i miss the hatch?

One thing I've come to realize is, many times, you can't USE a lot of extra power on saltwater...lakes are usually (not always) suitable for running as fast as you wanna...bass boats are a good example...but the salty stuff many times is anywhere from chopped up to standin' up and the extra power stays on the shelf...today, I'm talkin' to Willy and he says it's the 1st time he's had opportunity in 3 mos to really open up his new Etec(sounded sweet BTW)...on the other hand, if you want the extra ponies, that's cool too!!...nice to have when ya can...:hide:

that is true. of all the time i spent fishing in the gulf there are only a handful of times that I was able to actually run fast with light tabs. I was thinking more along the lines of the torque associated with the horsepower, getting on plane quicker etc.

Yea but its extra nice when you can open her up and still get 3mpg @ 5500 @ 36mph:clap:

(we need a crackin my knuckles whilst pettin my Yamaha emoticon)

But seriously, I want my best econ to be around 4500 @ +-26-28mph cause you seldom ever get to run her WOT......and get back in one peice or WOT(With Out Trama)

I think the bracket is a little more efficient. I could be wrong but the 140 should be just right in the weight to hp ratio. I don't think I wouldn't want to go 60 standing in the tower. Besides, low RPM planing and grunt down low to get thru the heavy stuff is what you need when you go out to sea. I volunteer to try it for a month or two if he needs a first hand opinion.
